Be a generator of ideas or a communication tool to a miniature utopia, the history of architectural models we share with you.

Since the dawn of civilization, persons have desired shelter that lead to not only safety, but comfort, beauty, emotion and spirituality. Architectural models have played a vital role in this quest. Early architectural models were not used as sales or visualization tools as they are today but to share in religious rites, burials and remembrance. Archaeologist have found architectural models dating back thousands of years. These rich and archaeological architectural effigies— often called models— have been created from around the globe, including works from Middle Bronze Age Syria, Ancient Egypt, and Han Dynasty China.

The humble architectural model is still being used to portray the vision and emotions of space to occupy in reality. Non-existent, old or new structures and even complete cities are being built in scale models as acorns of the past and to todays animations perfection. Gifts of remembrance, from furnishings in tombs of Pharohs, or to show “the future” as will be used in the distant time and place. The advancements in technology have given us the ability to show in great detail and refined scale with the capabilities of 3D printing and laser cutting acrylics. The static models of yesterday have now given way to animated selections. Global 3D Arts is currently researching and studying the newest global architectural achievement building Las Vegas venue the MSG Sphere. We hope to duplicate a small visual of that venues real capability.

From Lincoln logs and Barbie houses to a gleaming oval glass 72 story scale model of the Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta, Georgia. Persons have desired to express their ideas, to be heard, seen and accepted.

The architectural model gives us this capability. Today they are still built for individuals or communities wishing to document their structure or to teach others of the surroundings within the model.

Dave VanDoren of Hays, Kansas a businessman, inventor, builder and developer began using architectural models early in his construction and technology projects. People started inquiring how they could obtain a model. Enjoying this side of the architectural arts Global 3D Arts was formed.
